Ellen is a lawyer aspiring to make partner at her law firm. Unfortunately, she spends most of her time chasing after Sarah. You see, Sarah's grandparents are one of her law firm's largest clients and therefore Ellen spends more time being a nanny than she does working as a lawyer. Don't misunderstand, she is very fond of Sarah, but she would rather be advancing her career rather than constantly getting Sarah out of trouble. While Sarah's grandparents are vacationing in Europe, Ellen discovers that Skyler is Sarah's long lost uncle (her dad's brother). She thinks that reuniting the two may solve all of her problems.
